Web Service Endpoint

A Web Service Endpoint is a setup entity that can be used to parameterized STEP web services built to receive request data and transmit response data. One type of Web Service Endpoint exists in STEP: Matching and Merging Web Service Endpoint. For more information, see the Matching and Merging Web Service Type topic in the Matching, Linking, and Merging documentation here.

Note: Web Services allow third-party systems to integrate with STEP data.

Prerequisites

Before configuring and using a Web Service Endpoint, users must create an entity-object type and associate it with a desired parent node.

This requires the appropriate permissions to create system objects. For more information, see the Creating an Object Type topic in the System Setup / Super User Guide documentation here.

Once the entity object is created, create a Web Service Endpoint in the valid parent node by right-clicking on the node and selecting 'New Web Service Endpoint.'

A new Web Service Endpoint dialog will display requesting an ID, name, and the web service type.

An empty web service will be generated.
